Case SabespSabesp – The Sao Paulo State Basic Sanitation Company has used OpMon to manage its servers, including capacity and availability, since mid-2008. According to Jaime Ridorsa, Mainframe and Windows Platform Support Manager, with more than 16 years in the company and responsible for the implementation and scope of the use of OpMon, one of the features that most influenced the choice was the possibility the platform offers to work in a service-oriented architecture. “With it, we can create e-mail accompaniments, network assets, applications, etc.. It was the solution that most closely aligned to the needs of Sabesp and we are really very pleased with its performance.” Enthused by version 4.0 of OpMon, which he first saw during OPDAT in Porto Alegre, last December, Jaime explains that the new version will probably be introduced in 2010. "It's even more aligned to ITIL, and that matters a great deal to Sabesp, which, in the future, intends to keep a few indicators in that system." He explains that there is a strong correlation between the dynamics of OpMon version 4.0 and the IT governance practices that Sabesp wants to institute. "Right now, we are still consolidating the adoption of the current solution, but it is quite likely that version 4.0 will integrate the company's agenda next year," he concludes. website: www.sabesp.com.br |
