OpServices confirms partnership with U&R form Argentina

OpServices, a technology firm specialized in IT governance and Monitoring IT infrastructure and business processes, has established yet another international partnership in the market, this time with U&R, an Argentinean consulting firm created in 1996 which aims to augment Professional Services in the Networks, Communications and IT/Computer/Informatics areas

The partnership with OpServices arose out of U&R's need to offer a wider range of business monitoring services to its client with the OpMon platform. According to Marcelo Utard, Managing Director of U&R: “OpServices is a Brazilian firm very similar to U&R. It is a firm that supplies professional services in information and telecommunications and specializes in monitoring and measuring infrastructure and IT services, which develops and maintains its own tools based on opensource/freeware components, which constantly adapts its tool to the needs of its clients and recognizes that tools in themselves are not enough, it is necessary to provide a good complete measurement service. We have chosen a strategic alliance, to add to the commercial and technological fields, in order to be leaders in monitoring and measuring in our region”.

According to Utard, the flexibility of the OpMon solution in meeting the needs of the U&R’s clients was another decisive point when choosing the firm. “U&R already has an significant background and experience with the “IT Measurement Service: ITmetro". The ITMetro service is provided to our clients using opensource tools and own developments from U&R, which resolve a large variety of measurement needs, in particular in the area of communications and networks. However, the ITmetro service does not currently have the tools nor the expertise in some IT areas. OpMon is a very good complement for measuring (among others):

• Transactional environments (Oracle, SAP, Datasul EMS)
• JVM web applications (Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere)
• Business processes (Catalog Services, SLA, SLM)

Moreover, for reasons of economy of scale, the development of additional functionalities can be amortized faster thanks to the size of the Brazilian market, to which the Argentinean and other market in the region would be added. “We understand that in the immediate future we will be able to agree that some functionalities are developed and maintained by U&R, in particular in the networking and VoIP areas” adds Marcelo.

For Dario Bestetti, director of OpServices, the partnership with U&R further qualifies the firm’s services as it opens the door to the Latin-American market, especially Argentina, as well as broadening the services the firm can offer, since U&R has considerable experience in systems and network management and in particular in VoIP technology. “We are very optimistic with the innovative potential of the partnership, since it has already begun to show the first positive results”, commemorates Dario.
