Overview

Here we have a module with many interesting features. In addition to allowing building customized dashboards, where we can place a background figure and drag and the ICs, AICs and their groups to the panel, we have pre-configured options. Check the pages below.t

CI Groups

Here we have the visualization of all ICs of a group. Similarly, we list all the groups and with a double click. See the figures.

To visualize the job’s graphic representation, you have to simply click on its name twice. Then the folders’ area is minimized to allow better observe the job.

Containers

Shows the ICs and AICs groups most comprehensively and the groups of a catalogue as well. Observe.

To visualize the job’s graphic representation, you just have to double-click on its name. Then the folders’ area is minimized to allow better observe the job.

Hint 1:In this module, when we click on a container, we go to the corresponding management screen.

Dashboards

Here we have a panel building and visualization area on the user’s part. To visualize, you have to follow the standard procedure shown before. Below we show examples of customization.

Hint 2:We may load more than one dashboard for alternate visualization. To do that we have to click on the “+” icon (highlighted above) and then open a new panel. When we click on the tab, we may close it. See the figure below.

To create a panel, we have to:

  1. a) Open a new panel or use a pre-existing void.
  2. b) Activate the edition mode clicking on the said button.
  1. c) At this time new elements appear on the upper right corner of the screen.

Hint 3:Close the navigation area clicking on the icon above to expand the dashboard’s edition area. To return to the navigation area you just have to click on the icon again.

  1. d) We can start creating a panel by inserting a background element. To do that we have to select such component on the left side of the screen. When we select it, we have the following options:
  • Images

Here we can chose a pre-selected (JPEG or PNG) image and drag it towards the edition area. And using the option below the images we can upload any image, such as rack photo or a Visio diagram.

  • APIs

We can load an element similar to the Google Maps to create a geographical dashboard. To do that you have only to drag the “ESRI ArcGIS API” item into the edition area.

  • Colors

Here we can choose a solid color or two to make a degradé.

  1. e) As an example, we have chosen the “ESRI ArcGIS API” option, with topology option, making a “zoom out”. Then we dragged the image to improve the visualization. See the result.
  1. f) Now we have to pay attention to the markers’ categories. Here we have several icons that will be dragged to the panel to represent ICs, AICs, their groups, services, etc. See some of the options on the figures below.

Dica:You can find some items to use in http://www.iconarchive.com.

  1. g) After selecting the desired icon, we have to drag it towards the panel, positioning it on the desired location, as on the figure below.
  1. h) Than we have to define the text and the font’s size and color on the “Properties” tab”.
  1. i) Now we have to associate information to the icon regarding OpMon elements such as ICs, AICs, groups, etc., as well as timer or association to another dashboard. Use the “Association” for that.
  1. j) See the options mentioned above on the figures below.
  1. k) As an example we have chosen an IC with updating on the panel every minute. Then we clicked on the “Associate” button”.
  1. l) Wait for the confirmation screen.
  1. m) If we want to insert dispersed elements with no connection among them, we only have to repeat steps g) to l). See an example.
  1. n) In order to force an updating of the elements’ status, click on the icon highlighted on the figure above and see what your panel looks like. And on the figure below see the result showing an IC with incident.
  1. o) Now you have only to save the chart clicking on the “diskette” icon on the menu on the left side, fill in the information and confirm the saving.

Hint 4:Now you have only to save the chart clicking on the “diskette” icon on the menu on the left side, fill in the information and confirm the saving.

Up until now we have created panels that associate icons to ICs. But we may also associate graphic elements to AICs, ICs and AICs groups, for some components have different features. We present below some examples of dashboards that show these kinds of associations. Look at them.

Panel with ICs group

In this case we can use a component of the “Marcadores – Dashboard” category, called “Container” and associate it to a group. See the figures below.

After we have loaded a previously drawn diagram, we select this kind of component, reduce its opacity and associate to a group of ICs.

Panels with AICs

In this case we can use a component of the “Markers – Dashboard” category called “Gauge”, “LineChart” or “Pie Chart” and associate to an AIC with one or more variables. See the figures below.

Hint 5:When we open several panel out of the edition mode, click on the “Slideshow” button and choose the kind of transition, intervals between them, and click on start. This way all selected panels will alternate among them within the desired time, as on the figure .
